
Ian Short is a founding member of Available Light Theatre. Some of his favorite AVLT roles have included Josh Cotter in Skyscrapers of the Midwest, Richard of Gloucester in The Life and Death of Richard the Third, Franklin Shepard in Merrily We Roll Along, and Father Jose in Young Jean Lee’s Church. He has also performed in the AVLT original plays The Food Play, How to Stay Human, Dirty Math, Time and a Few Words and Tomorrow is the Question.
Ian has performed locally with CATCO, Phoenix Theatre, BalletMet, Gallery Players and Actor’s Theatre. His directing credits include Guys and Dolls, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Sound of Music, The Odd Couple, Once Upon a Mattress, Our Town, Beauty and the Beast, Oklahoma!, Apocalypso!, Hello Dolly, and The Music Man.
While living in New York, Ian performed at the Lincoln Center and was a guest artist on One Life to Live and the CBS series New York News. He has acted in numerous commercials and was in the feature film Graduation.
Ian is a graduate of Otterbein College.
