Acacia has been a member of Available Light since the beginning. Her theatrical passions are on two extremes: new and original works, and classical plays (preferably Shakespeare). With AVLT she has had the pleasure of working on many new and original plays. Her haircut recently garnered a lot of attention in The Internationalist. Other shows with AVLT include: A Lonely Crowd, Time and a Few Words, Dead City, Foolin’ Around With Infinity, Tomorrow is the Question, and A Study in Art & Lies. She gets her Shakespeare groove on frequently with Actor’s Theatre -- you could have seen her in some of her favorite roles there such as Ophelia in Hamlet, Gremio in Taming of the Shrew, and Marianne in Tartuffe. She has also performed in Columbus with BlueForms Theatre Group, Gallery Players, Women at Play, MadLab, and Red Herring. She also starred in the film Mrs. Steven’s Hears the Mermaids Singing. Acacia received her B.F.A. from Miami University and studied Shakespearean performance at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Acacia lives with her wonderfully inspiring husband and laugh-out-loud goofy weimaraner, Beckett.
