Goodnight Ya' Bitch-Ass Moon
Illustrated by Joey Talbott
After spending several years in a noisy, sometimes rough section of Crown Heights, Ruben Carbajal began to wonder how the children in the neighborhood were ever able to get any sleep. This thought led to Goodnight, Ya’ Bitch-Ass Moon, an updated urban satire of the beloved children's story Goodnight, Moon. Illustrator Joey Talbott uses elements from the original setting to create a bedroom in a housing complex, while the story itself takes a gritty, unsentimental view of childhood.
