Twelve years ago, clad in a sponge-painted T-shirt and brandishing a spray-painted coat hanger, I, for the first time, walked out on a real stage and played a real character in a real story in front of real people. It immediately became my only truly important dream never to stop doing this. This Thursday, clad in leather and fur and brandishing a Nerf battle axe, I’ll be walking out on this same real stage, playing a real character in a real, weird little story that all my college friends got totally sick of hearing me say was my dream to perform in.
