
DARIN KEESING is a Scenic and Lighting Designer who has lived in Columbus since 2008. Darin started with Available Light by designing the set and lighting for the world premier of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, and has designed sets and/or lighting for eight AVLT productions. Other Columbus credits include Souvenir and The Seafarer for CATCO, Chess and Evita for SRO, and a dozen shows with Phoenix/CATCO for Kids.
From 2006-08, Darin was Lighting Director at The State Theatre in State College, PA, lighting plays, dance productions, and local and touring concerts, including Band of Horses, The Derek Trucks Band and Drive-By Truckers.
Darin earned a BFA in Lighting Design from The Theatre School at DePaul University, and an MFA in Stage Design from Northwestern University. From 2000-05, he designed scenery and lighting in Chicago. Chicago credits include fifteen productions with About Face Theatre, plus productions with Lifeline Theatre, American Theatre Company, Next Theatre, Cobalt Theatre Ensemble, Timeline Theatre, Theatre at the Center, Wheaton College, and Roadworks. In addition to his theatre work, Darin spent two seasons on the Production Staff of The Oprah Winfrey Show, and taught for one year at Illinois-Wesleyan University.
Darin married his wife Melissa in 1997, and has two daughters — Anneke and Ella.
