MATT HERMES is an actor/director/alchemist usually seen working with the likes of Available Light Theatre, Actors’ Theatre of Columbus, A&B Theatricals, Gallery Players, and Curtain Players. Matt was a founding company member of New Players Theater, where he served as its Marketing Director, and directed the celebrated Columbus premieres of God of Carnage and Good People.
When not working in the theatre, Matt makes movies. In addition to directing a bunch of short films, he has garnered several industry awards for writing and producing training videos. He is a graduate of the Los Angeles Film Studies Center, where he also worked for Wind Dancer Films. By cover of day, he is an Instructional Designer for Nationwide Insurance.
If Matt’s not acting in or directing a play or film, he’s probably watching one. Matt likes film so well that he devised his own elaborate movie ranking system. He counts Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, Kenneth Branagh, and Stanley Kubrick among his most inspiring and influential filmmakers.
Matt ardently hopes the human race sets foot on Mars soon because, man, that would just be far out.
